The best fundraising house party is one that’s entertaining & informative.  Throwing a party is a fun way to raise money and support for the Edwards campaign. If you are interested in throwing a party, contact us at la4edwards@gmail.com for support.

Here are the basic of a House Party.  You can make it as simple or elaborate as you want.

1. People receive an invitation to come to a private home or other venue.

2. The invitation makes it clear that the party will be a fundraising event.

3. Participants arrive and are served some refreshments.

4. Participants sit through a brief presentation or discussion.

5. A peer - someone respected and enthusiastic - asks everyone present to make a contribution.

House Party Specifics:

Guests:

• Guests should have an interest in John Edwards and learning more about his policies.

• Invite 3 times the number of guest that you would like to attend.

 Presentation:

• The presentation can be a variety of possibilities: showing a video of John’s speeches, having a local elected official who endorses Edwards speak, having someone knowledgeable and passionate about Edwards' plans & ideas discuss them.

• John’s speeches really get the crowd going. Many of them are online: the CA Democratic Convention is a great one and all of Edwards' speeches are on his YouTube page.

Donation:

• At the end of the presentation encourage guests to donate to the campaign. 

• Guests fill out Contribution Forms and leave them with you to send in.

• Have your laptop available so guests can make donations online via credit card.  You can go to our LA 4 Edwards fundraising page and have guest fill out the contribution form online.
